Liwa, Qasr Al Sarab Resort, October 2024
For this project, I had the honor of designing four cultural activations that brought Emirati heritage to life in the heart of the desert. Each installation was envisioned as both an educational journey and an artistic experience—bridging tradition with refined storytelling for an international audience.
Pearlogy Station — An immersive activation where guests engaged with the rich history of pearls and pearl diving, discovering their deep-rooted significance in the cultural and economic fabric of the region.
Duroor Station — A journey into the traditional Emirati method of weather prediction and calendars, where ancient wisdom revealed how communities once lived in rhythm with the stars and seasons.
Medbsa Station — A celebration of hospitality through the art of date syrup making. Guests witnessed the process, learned about date varieties, and experienced firsthand the generosity of Emirati culture.
The Starry Majlis — A Majlis designed between the dunes, under a canopy of stars. At night, it became a gathering space for storytelling, echoing the timeless oral traditions of the region.
The design process was deeply rewarding, from the curation of terracotta vases to pairing them with natural Emirati elements like khoos—weaving authenticity into every detail. I am passionate about creating projects that reflect our culture and transform heritage into artful narratives that resonate with the world.
